In its continued effort to put smiles on the faces of pupils and create a conducive learning environment, the Ichie Akubudike Foundation has commissioned a fully functional borehole project, alongside the tiling and painting of five classroom blocks at Afor Igwe Primary School, Umudioka, in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.
During the commissioning ceremony, the Education Secretary of the Diocese on the Niger, Venerable Izuchukwu Ndubuisi, expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation for the laudable intervention. He noted that the provision of a new borehole will go a long way in improving the health and hygiene of pupils and teachers in the school community.

On his part, the school manager, Rev. Nonso Blessed, described the projects as a timely and life-changing intervention. He emphasized that access to clean water and improved classrooms will not only enhance the learning environment but also boost the morale of both pupils and teachers. He further prayed for divine blessings upon the founder of the Ichie Akubudike Foundation, High Chief Martin Nwabueze, for his vision and commitment to the upliftment of education.
The Headmistress, Lady Chukwudumeme Franca Adaeze, was visibly elated as she expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the teachers, the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), and the pupils. She thanked the Foundation for transforming the school environment, stressing that the new borehole, together with the tiling and painting of classrooms, will make teaching and learning more comfortable and effective.
The Head of Department, Quality Assurance, Dunukofia Local Government Education Authority, Mrs. Victoria Nneka Uzoma, also commended the initiative. She stated that in all her years in the education commission, she had never witnessed such projects being undertaken by a single individual for a public school. She praised the Foundation not only for this recent intervention but also for its earlier distribution of writing materials to all public primary schools in Dunukofia. She urged the Foundation to sustain its noble efforts in advancing education in the region.
The founder of Ichie Akubudike Foundation, High Chief Martin Nwabueze, was conferred with the award of *“Beacon of Education”* in recognition of his outstanding contributions to educational development in Umudioka and beyond. While receiving the honor on behalf of the founder, Chief Sunday Anene, the secretary of the foundation reaffirmed that the Foundation’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that access to quality education is the right of every child. He assured that the Foundation will continue to champion projects that uplift schools and empower communities.
The event was further enlivened by a cultural dance display from the pupils, who used the performance to express their joy and appreciation for the Foundation’s generosity.
The successful completion and commissioning of these projects not only highlight the Foundation’s dedication to raising educational standards but also reaffirm its commitment to community development.
