ICHIE AKUBUDIKE FOUNDATION BRINGS RELIEF TO PUPILS IN DUNUKOFIA WITH DONATION OF WRITING MATERIALS

As part of efforts to cushion the effects of the rising cost of living and in support of schools resuming for the 2025/2026 academic session, a wave of relief swept through public primary schools in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State as the Ichie Akubudike Foundation donated essential writing materials to pupils. The distribution exercise covered all the public primary schools within the LGA.

Speaking during the presentation, the Secretary of the Foundation, Chief Sunday Anene, who represented the founder, High Chief Martin Nwabueze, said:

“It has always been part of our mission to give hope to less-privileged students. These writing materials will not only help the pupils develop academically but also ease the burden on parents who may not be able to afford necessary books for their children. Our foundation remains committed to returning out-of-school children to classrooms and offering scholarships to orphans and street children, ensuring that no child is left behind.”

It is in the character of our chairman and founder to encourage learning, and this gesture is just one of the many ways we are supporting education. I also call on other stakeholders to invest in education so that we can nurture the best brains in our society. To the students, I urge you to remain focused on your studies and never see education as a scam, it is your ladder to greatness.”

The atmosphere in the schools was filled with joy as pupils, parents, and teachers expressed heartfelt gratitude. Many pupils, clutching their new exercise books with excitement, chorused their appreciation:

“We are very happy today. Thank you, Ichie Akubudike Foundation, for remembering us. We promise to study hard and make you proud.”

Headmistresses of various schools were equally emotional, describing the donation as timely and impactful. The Headmistress of Central School, Umunnachi, noted that some pupils previously managed with a single exercise book for all subjects. She said the Foundation’s intervention had lifted a huge burden, giving both children and teachers renewed hope.

Also present was the Supervisor for Quality Assurance, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), in charge of Dunukofia Education Authority. He lauded the Foundation’s gesture, noting that it would leave a lasting mark in the education zone. He encouraged the Foundation to continue in its mission, stressing that education remains the bedrock of society.

The donation of writing materials by the Ichie Akubudike Foundation has not only brought smiles to the faces of pupils and parents in Dunukofia but also rekindled the spirit of learning in the community. With interventions such as this, the hope of building a brighter future for the younger generation becomes more achievable.
